It's hard to believe the jumping season is winding down already. It feels like we just got started. We had a pretty good year for the ASPC. Making nearly 3,500 jumps and counting. We got a few new members and watched some of last years new jumpers excel this year. Some 14 ways got off the ground (and off the DZ), which was a FIRST for a lot of people. Oh yeah, and a bunch of Gold medals at the USPA Nationals.
Now it is time again for the elections. They will be held at the Dec. meeting as usual. The date is 12/8/07. If you can't make it to the meeting (I can't think of any good reasons not to) you can VOTE ONLINE thanks to Bob Tyson. All the instructions and rules are posted on the ASPC tab on the Skydivericks.com website. Remember if you vote online you can not vote at the meeting. You can see who has been nominated online or if you plan on going to the meeting, you can see who the nominees are and just wait and vote at the meeting.
Now the bad stuff. It is the end of the year and that means dues will be deducted from your jump bill in January.
$75.00 for Regular Members
$25.00 for Lifetime Members
As per article VI, Section 1, Paragraph G: of the constitution:
FAIR WEATHER CLAUSE - Those members that are in good standing (black)
on their jump bill and fall into the RED due to yearly dues will not be assessed the $10.00 penalty charge per month until the month of May bills are posted. If a member is in the RED prior to yearly dues being posted on January 1, he/she will continue to be penalized the $10.00 penalty charge per month until paid in full.
In other words don't be in the RED in at the end of Dec. If you have any questions or concerns about your jump bill please email me at president@theaspc.com or call me at 330-549-6329.
Finally the ASPC would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. And remember that Rick’s is still open on the weekends, so if the weather is nice come out and jump out of a plane. Keep in mind though, that Ricks will be closed Jan and Feb 2008 and opening back up the first weekend of April.
Blue skies,
Shawn Meyer
