 ASPC Minutes: 4/13/2008 Meeting called to order: 7:15pm by Vice President Shawn Meyer Sec Report: The minutes were read Cassie Drummond and accepted. Treasurers’ Report: No report given Pop & Beer Report: N/A
Old Business: 1. BANQUET: Cassie reported that the club made $311.66. A discussion followed. It was suggested that we change the date next year to the second week in March look into moving it back to the Motor lodge in East Liverpool. A banquet committee was formed, to include Jimmy & Cassie Drummond, Tim Weigle, Shawn Meyer, and poor Chris Gear who wasn’t there to defend himself. The $100 deposit was returned.
New Business: 1. There are 5 open lockers 2. BBQ: Kay said that she might be able to get a helicopter. Rick said he couldn’t fly it so he checked on beer prices instead. We are thinking of getting a new caterer or going back to the old BBQ ways of cooking our own food. A committee was announced Jimmy & Cassie, Drew, Shawn, poor Chris gear who wasn’t there to defend himself. 3. SAFETY DAY: 30 or so people attended. Rick Kuhns gave an exceptional review of often-neglected gear; Jim Barger gave his 2 & ½ cents of what is expected of skydivers in an airplane. Paul Waschak read from the Parachutist magazine and adlibbed as well as he could. All in all it went pretty well 4. It was announced that Jimmy Drummond beat the pants off of Cheryl Stearns to claim 1st place in the Florida jump meet, and Jim Hayhurst picked them up and ran with them to second place. 5. It was announced that there would be two Style & Accuracy training camps at Rick’s this year, May 17-26 and July 6-15 with a competition at he end of the July camp. The DZ will remain open during the camps, even in the day so if you’re off and want to jump come on out! A donation jar will be acquired but please only monetary donations. 6. Shawn Meyer announced that the penalty phase of members in the red would commence at the end of May. It was suggested that you make restitution before then, or else. Rick asked about Skippy’s status. He is on active military service and is exempt, which is almost as good as having tits. 7. Jimmy Drummond motioned to disband all social members as of 4-12-08 Motion carried. 8. Rick Kuhns said it would be great if members could come out more often on weekdays because those that do are not enough to fill a load and since fuel is so expensive he can no longer be as generous and take short loads up.
